Ordinary Miracle

It's not that unusual when everything is beautiful

It's just another ordinary miracle today.

The sky knows when it's time to snow

You don't need to teach a seed to grow

It's just another ordinary miracle today.

Life is like a gift they say
Wrapped up for you every day

Open up and find a way
To give some of your own

Isn't it remarkable?
Like every time a raindrop falls

It's just another ordinary miracle today.

Birds in winter have their fling
And always make it home by spring

It's just another ordinary miracle today.

When you wake up every day

Please don't throw your dreams away

Hold them close to your heart

'Cause we are all a part
Of the ordinary miracle.

Do you want to see a miracle?

It seems so exceptional

That things just work out after all

It's just another ordinary miracle today.

The sun comes up and shines so bright

It disappears again at night

It's just another ordinary miracle today...
It's just another ordinary miracle today.

Hi Kylee - I loved that poem and your photos proved that there's no such thing as an ordinary miracle!

I didn't see the opening ceremony as it was on at stupid o'clock here (about 3am!), but having read some of the blogs about it, I rather wish I had ... so thanks for sharing the poem! :)

That was beautiful! I love the song already, and your photos were the perfect touch. Very uplifting on this cold, dreary day -- thanks Kylee!

Kylee I love that song and even heard it last night on the Winter Olympics opening ceremony. But lady your rendition and pictures are so much better. This is going to be a favorite posting of yours. Wonderful!
Have a great weekend!

A stunningly simple post that is enough to make even me slow down and say, "Whoa!".

Thanks for this.

A truly inspiring post. I loved your pictures, and the song brings hope and comfort in life. This reminds me of a saying my mom would always say when planting in her garden.

"To plant a seed today means to believe in tomorrow"

She even had a tiny garden bench that had that saying on it. I think that's where she got the saying from, but I still find it pretty neat.

Perfect pictures for this song. Great photo essay, that made me give the song itself more respect!

"Today's not the same as every day, it's far from ordinary..." (some singer from Missouri I like)
This is a lovely post, Kylee. Despite my exasperation with the Olympics for some of their obvious shortfalls, I love the sense of camaraderie between nations and the sense of possibilities that the gather creates. Thank you for this.

Oh, and I love y'all to small bits...but we're gonna kick yer butts at hockey. Just sayin'. ;-)

Hi, Kylee;
That song was in my head after last night's Olympic ceremonies. So nice to find it over here so I could enjoy it again. And what a lovely post. Your photos are terrific!

I watched the opening ceremonies last night, but enjoyed your version of it SO much more - with the music playing and scrolling through your beautiful photos. Yes, miracles are all around us. A big "amen" to that. ;-)

That's such a beautiful, inspiring song - became an instant favorite the first time I heard it. My girls and I have had a few wonderful mother/daughter bonding experiences at Sarah McLaughlin concerts. Your photos are perfect accompaniments for Sarah's song Kylee.

What a great post, Kylee! There is definitely NOTHING ordinary about a miracle - and you've displayed, quite well, a number of them. :-) Hope you're enjoying a great weekend.

Wow. I just discovered you from Renee's Garden Seeds and SO GLAD. You are the only blog I've ever subscribed to and I'm so dazed and amazed at your photos and thoughts and generosity of sharing. Thank you!

Everyone ~ Wow...thanks so much for all the lovely comments. As I said, I was inspired. I love when that happens, because the heart truly speaks as a result.

Tee ~ A similar little poem is a favorite of mine:

"Who plants a seed beneath the sod, and waits to see, beliees in God."

jodi ~ Since I don't particularly like hockey, I'll let that slide! LOL!

garden girl ~ Ohhhh...I would LOVE to be able to see Sarah in concert! Lucky you! One of the advantages to living in a major metropolitan area...

Melody ~ Yes, that's my grandma. She's 95 and an amazing lady.

Priscilla ~ I'm flattered! I hope you'll enjoy my gardening adventures as much as I do! :-)
