Wordless Wednesday: Never, Never, Never, Never Give Up

Petunia x hybrida 'Improved Purple Wave'

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

Sir Winston Churchill, Speech, 1941, Harrow School
British politician (1874 - 1965)

Funny that you posted this today. I just returned from the park where I took pictures of the same flower blooming. It grows in a planter welcoming people to the park. I will have to post a picture too. I thought it amazing that this one held on so long. It is even colder up by you.

I still have a couple stubborn petunias blooming, too, in spite of the cold. Wonderfully wise words from a great man.

This petunia apparently lives by Winston Churchill's mighty words.

That's a hard working petunia! :)

Lisa ~ I know! Crazy! We've had such cold weather and several snows - who would believe a petunia would hold up to that??

Kate ~ With where you are, do you have petunias hold up in cold weather pretty well? I know how you like petunias! ;-)

Rose ~ It's been a little bit of a different year, weather wise, hasn't it?

Terra ~ Yes it does! That's what it made me think of and why I included the quote. :-)

Lea ~ It's looking a little droopy now, after the latest snow and night temps of 13°F. But still!
