I'm glad to know I'm not the only 1 who's not in love with Bergenia. Yours is prettier than mine, though. It also makes me realise how much works gets done as well. Your walkway turned out so well ...

I loved seeing the Hellebore and the Jack-in-the-pulpit. The Clematis 'Miss Bateman' is gorgeous.

Come spring, I wonder if you might post a picture of a pink Lily-of the-valley. I imagine the pink one is beautiful!katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03979577122006222781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-19011479365735481382008-01-02T08:14:00.000-05:002008-01-02T08:14:00.000-05:00I like this trip down memory lane you're taking us...I like this trip down memory lane you're taking us, Kylee. The winters here are pretty dull and grey too with hardly a chance of snow to brighten things up a bit. So it's nice to see so many pics of green and lush plants ! Love that pyramid in your veggies garden but GAAAAAAAA to all those baby mantids, brrrrrrrr. How big do the adults get?Yolanda Elizabet Heuzenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02506031220151023088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-65858446544267535452007-12-31T16:49:00.000-05:002007-12-31T16:49:00.000-05:00Naturegirl ~ Looking back at all the lovely flower...Naturegirl ~ Looking back at all the lovely flowers that grew in our gardens this year does indeed bring joy to me! It also makes me long for spring and summer again. NOW!
Thank you for the New Year's wishes and of course I wish the same to you!

Willow ~ Thank YOU for visiting Our Little Acre! I hope you'll return!

Aiyana ~ I used to wear Muguet de Bois, which is a perfume that captures the fragrance very well of Lily of the Valley!

Lisa ~ Well, thank you for your kind words. I enjoy gardening so much, and like most things I do, when I jump in, I do it with both feet! Gardening is such an exciting and rewarding activity. Always something new!

Jodi ~ That was pretty exciting to watch those mantids emerging! I love praying mantids and I'm happy that we have so many in the gardens. We see them quite often.
We have no snow at the moment, but that's about to change! We're under a winter storm watch for this evening (New Year's Eve) with a potential for 8" of snow.
So you can't grow hellebores there? Or is it just that you don't have any in your gardens?
Thank you, too, for your kind words regarding my gardening accomplishments. :-)

Melissa ~ Please say hello to your Kylee! I see it every now and then but it wasn't always so. When I was growing up in the '60s there weren't any! When I hear it on television, used in a fictional program, it still takes me by surprise.
Thanks for visiting Our Little Acre and I hope you'll come back again! :-)

Cindy ~ Oh we still have lots of room for more gardens if we want! We'd like to expand the veggie part this spring and of course I still want grapes. Drool away! LOL.

meems ~ Oh I must come take a look at your "year." I wish I were where you are right now. I'm already sick of winter and we've barely begun!

Tyra ~ Thank you for visiting! And I wish you a Happy New Year as well! Please come back!Kylee Baumlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04288354709094515651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-26817551688467110152007-12-31T10:03:00.000-05:002007-12-31T10:03:00.000-05:00Wonderful post, especially the Lily of the Valley,...Wonderful post, especially the Lily of the Valley, gorgeous. I might just steal your idea and do one of these myself.:-)

It is hard to believe you have been gardening for so short a time... all your efforts are yielding wonderful and beautiful results. I would love to have the space to achieve that. But I don't. So I'll drool over yours, okay? ;)

Cindy at Rosehaven CottageCindy Garber Iversonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15543940998038589239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-90511742978084707222007-12-30T16:10:00.000-05:002007-12-30T16:10:00.000-05:00I just had to come by, I saw your name and it is e...I just had to come by, I saw your name and it is exactly the same as my 19 year old daughters so my heart did a little dance when I saw it! They don't look like they're from this world, do they? We don't have them here, at least I've never seen one (but then, given you went so long without seeing a frog, it could be the same for me and mantids. We'll see!
This really is fun, going back with you through the months. Makes the umpteen feet of snow out there seem a little less cold.
