We're still frostless here, too, and I'm chipping away at the tasks...and not stressing about them either, so that is a Good Thing.
Regarding your lilies: do you have scarlet lily beetles down there? They can eat plants right down to shreds, I'm told (no sign of them up here on the hill) but they can be controlled by using Neem oil in the larval stage.

Or perhaps like me, you inadvertently cut off shoots while planting something else? Probably not--you're more organized than I am and probably know where every plant and bulb is. I think I'm going to remember...but never do until the "ooops!" happens.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12107236871193698777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-85203974880954283342007-10-27T18:37:00.000-04:002007-10-27T18:37:00.000-04:00OMGosh... It makes me think maybe I better get started on some of this.

I was wondering if your caladiums winter over successfully. I have some that performed better than ever. I would like to try to save them for next year but wondered if it would be worth the effort. Do you then pot them up in like February to get them ready for summer?

I don't blame you for saving all the blooms on your front porch. They look gorgeous. We will be pining for those lovely blossoms and scents soon enough.Lisa at Greenbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743973292900758183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-52853062809061443032007-10-27T17:31:00.000-04:002007-10-27T17:31:00.000-04:00Well, Barbara, I know just what you mean. And yes...Well, Barbara, I know just what you mean. And yes, I've been busy, but I did all that a little bit at a time. This nice fall weather we've been having allowed me to spread it all out in little doses.

Vanillalotus, I pull the vines because they look ugly all dead like that and I can't stand it. I have to stop myself from cutting back everything just because I want the garden to look "neat and clean." I cut back quite a bit, but leave some things either because it's better for the plant or better for the birds. ;-)Kylee Baumlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04288354709094515651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-46533554746696112602007-10-27T17:20:00.000-04:002007-10-27T17:20:00.000-04:00You've been busy haven't you. I think the root stimulator idea sounds good can't wait to see if it works out well for you.

Are you pulling your morning glory and hyacinth bean vines because you no longer want them? Or just because they will die back anyways.

Your front porch looks crazy. I remember seeing brugmansia at the botanical gardens. They are beautiful but I never noticed they are fragrant. I would love to get one but I think they get far to big for the space I have.Priscilla Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12353263318112375137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-5108725067217948032007-10-27T16:56:00.000-04:002007-10-27T16:56:00.000-04:00You were really hardworking!! It's every year the same....
Wishing you a nice Sunday,
BarbaraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
