My references in the sermon were meant to be DEscriptive, not PREscriptive. I, also , tend to be a little irritated by the tendency to anthropomorphize nature to fit our ideas, so I appreciate Ben's skepticism.
I am humbled to have been used by God to stir this in you. It's incredible to me how all kinds of "seeds" get planted and then grow! The divine qualities we share with the natural world truly connect us.

Seems to me the problems Ben's referring to are caused by the human ego's need for power and control, and most definitely not by the spiritual connection and empathy we share with our fellow creatures.

Thank you for the lovely and inspirational thoughts.garden girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13284047851881823280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-50892118044673763662010-10-31T15:19:01.830-04:002010-10-31T15:19:01.830-04:00Hi Ben. There's danger in that happening with nearly everything, isn't there?Kylee Baumlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04288354709094515651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-46927385167655703182010-10-31T15:15:08.483-04:002010-10-31T15:15:08.483-04:00I'm gonna be an academic and both agree ith yo...I'm gonna be an academic and both agree ith you, and say whoa, wait a second. Where is the line between seeing similiarities in nature--and hopefully feelign connected / humbled by that realization--and the danger of antrhopomorphism? That latter big word has led to genocide both human and ecological. Sometimes we are too eager to put meaning on nature, and in our self interests twist and warp creation into our own desires and fears. Surely, a Biblical lesson there, too.Benjamin Vogthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10661489036836711335noreply@blogger.com
