He built a 40 to 45 foot tall greenhouse to extend his growing season. I have seen photos of it. He's also done a lot of research on photoperiod and wavelength & spectrum and how they affect corn development. Pretty mind boggling stuff. Think of 30+ feet. That's WAY up there. But I don't think the lack of it at this late date will hurt the corn crop much, thankfully.

Anonymous ~ I have edited my post, which is what you wanted, apparently, and I'm glad to do so. However, in the future, if you leave comments, especially of a tone such as yours (which is why I didn't publish the lengthy second comment you just left today), I won't respond.

No need to be so negative. I'm not a difficult person to talk to or deal with and can admit when I'm wrong. For your information, I did try to research this and I didn't dispute the claims of either man; I left that to others. I merely stated what's out there. I'm sorry you felt the need to take such an attitude. Adults should be able to discuss things like this without the use of such negative language.Kylee Baumlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04288354709094515651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-57810516079796966552013-09-02T20:44:41.737-04:002013-09-02T20:44:41.737-04:00An anonymous person gets on the internet to slande...An anonymous person gets on the internet to slander Karl, and the the author of this blog declares it a controversy. The author then goes on to slander Karl herself and declare "The most widely accepted "tallest corn stalk" title belongs to Don Radda, from Iowa," and then regurgitates the false claim "In 1946, he grew corn that topped out at 31 feet ⅞ inch" and validates the slander by concluding that Karl's claim is relative. From all of those statements, the only source that the author intimates is Guinness. It is also apparent, merely from the article, that the author is not credentialed in the field of maize science.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-92138604073203216972013-07-24T18:33:05.027-04:002013-07-24T18:33:05.027-04:00I am so happy that you are finally getting the rai...I am so happy that you are finally getting the rain that you need.
