Our children never visit here, we see them in Detroit, so we don't bother anymore. But I do have lots of fun with my Christmas shopping! As long as I have that, and my music activitites, it's Christmas to me. I sometimes decorate by Thanksgiving because I host our family on that holidsy. My family doesn't get back to my house for Christmas. We all gather in a different city together. So it is fun to share my love for decorating the house for christmas during Thanksgiving. Had found out when she got older that she was allergic to the real tree.
What we used to do after cutting a section off the trunk of the real tree was set the tree in bucket of water for at least 24 hours so that it would soak up as much water as possible before placing in tree stand.Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13106960827480062745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-32941520688746542402016-11-30T01:42:28.831-05:002016-11-30T01:42:28.831-05:00We usually decorate Thanksgiving Day or the weeken...We usually decorate Thanksgiving Day or the weekend. But I guess it was our first, and usually Christmas trees don't have pine cones on them, at least none that I'm used to seeing.

Beth ~ Thanks, Beth! The artificial tree works best for us. I like that it's a skinny tree and that it's flocked. That's what my dad and grandpa used to do to our real trees back in the '60s. Dad had a grocery store and he sold Christmas trees, so we always had a real one when I was growing up.Kylee Baumlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04288354709094515651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070488376505303445.post-78429834612851199482016-11-29T21:49:30.589-05:002016-11-29T21:49:30.589-05:00Aw, thanks for ushering in the season in such a be...Aw, thanks for ushering in the season in such a beautiful way, Kylee. We do the real tree thing, but I understand your reasoning. Actually, I'm thinking at a certain point that will make sense for us, too.
