Having attended the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show in 2007, I know that we'll be in for a treat when Mom and I travel to Columbus to see this year's show. We will have attended the Ft. Wayne Home and Garden Show the day before, so we'll be pumped to see more spring ideas for our gardens and home.
The show is being held at the Ohio Expo Center on the Ohio State Fairgrounds (map) in Columbus, Ohio and runs from February 27 through March 7. Highlights of the show include appearances by -
- Mary Alice Fallon Yeskey and Geof Manthorne from Food Network's Ace of Cakes
- Jamie Durie, star of HGTV's new hit show The Outdoor Room with Jamie Durie and PBS's The Victory Garden
- Tracy DiSabato-Aust, author of The Well-Tended Perennial Garden, The Well-Designed Mixed Garden, and High-Impact, Low-Care Garden Plants
- Shane Tallant, host of HGTV's Designed To Sell
There will be 14 landscaped gardens designed by local companies with the theme "Art in Bloom." Over 400 exhibitors will be present for the show, in its 54th year. For more information about the show, including special appearance times, please visit their website.

The Central Ohio Home and Garden Show has generously provided me with some tickets to give away to my readers! Simply leave a comment to this post by 10:00 p.m. EST tomorrow night (February 21, 2010), stating you'd like to win tickets and I'll randomly choose two winners.
Each winner will get two tickets to the show, which I'll put in the mail on Monday. I'll post the winners' names here, as well as attempting to contact them via e-mail, so I can obtain a mailing address for the tickets.

Now that would be a wonderful vacation.

Hello Kylee, Pete and I would really enjoy winning the tickets. February 27th is our son's birthday. He has a horticulture degree from OSU and we will all be going to Columbus for his birthday to see his fiancee. Maybe we'll see you at Ft. Wayne and Columbus! Twyla
I know I wouldn't be able to attend this, so I wish everyone else good luck--this sounds like another fabulous trip! Kylee, you are so fortunate to have such a wonderful garden buddy to attend all these events with you; it certainly makes it more fun when you can share your excitement with someone who enjoys gardening as much as your mother.
Good luck in the "Picture This" contest this month--"Bejeweled" is a gorgeous photo!
Let's see...four official entries to win tickets. Wouldn't it be nice if I had four sets of tickets so everyone could win?
Well...I DO! TICKETS FOR ALL!
Please e-mail your addresses to me through my profile page and I'll send them right out tomorrow!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Gail ~ Ohio has some pretty wonderful home and garden shows! If you're ever up this way when they're going on, be sure to take them in!
Rose ~ Oh, I know. These trips I've taken with my mom will be treasured the rest of my life. I told her that one time - that someday I would look back on these with so many good memories when we couldn't do them anymore and she said, "Oh, are you planning on quitting?" LOL. And you know what? She'll probably be able to do this longer than I will! She's amazing.
Thanks for your nice comment about "Bejeweled," too!
Hi Kylee;
What a great site you have and I feel blessed to have found it. I could really use a pair of the tickets to the Central Ohio Home and Garden Show. I recently got married and my new wife Jennifer is really into gardening, I have been more of a house plant person. We bought our first home in October of last year and really would like to go to this show to see how we can spend that huge tax credit for first time home buyers when it arrives.
Happy gardening!
Gary
Welcome, Gary! Unfortunately, the ticket giveaway ended on Sunday night and I don't have anymore tickets to give out. I'm so sorry! Perhaps you can find a discount locally. Usually there are discounts available, but I don't live in the Columbus area, so I'm not sure if there are or not.
I hope you'll attend the show anyway because it will be well worth the cost of admission. You'll see some wonderful ideas there!
Congratulations on your marriage! :-)
