Troy-Bilt Pressure Washer - A Review and Giveaway!

Let me say right from the start that yes, I'm hosting a Troy-Bilt giveaway, but no, it isn't for the pressure washer I'm reviewing here. However, I don't think you'll be too disappointed when you find out what is being given away.

For the last several years, I've been privileged to test and review several Troy-Bilt products. With one exception, I've been extremely pleased with their performance. And in the case of the exception - the TB57 Lithium Ion String Trimmer - it wasn't a case of how well it trimmed; it was an ergonomic issue. Using the thing was just awkward and tiresome.

This is exactly why Troy-Bilt has bloggers and home gardeners test and review their products. They want to put them into the hands of the common, everyday homeowners and gardeners, and then hear what we have to say to help them make an even better product. That's what happened with the trimmer - we spoke and they listened. That product was redesigned, taking into consideration what the reviewers shared.

Troy-Bilt 2700 PSI Pressure Washer
This year, Romie and I tested the Troy-Bilt 2700 PSI Pressure Washer and loved it, plain and simple. It worked extremely well and it was easy to use - fun, even! I have one complaint though. While this wasn't really an issue for Romie, I just couldn't start the thing. It has a pull-start and though they advertise it as being easy to start, I couldn't pull the cord fast enough to get it to take off. I had to have Romie start it for me. There's got to be a better way. (Electric start?)

That's the short review. Here's a video, showing me using the pressure washer for the very first time. I might add that this is also the very first time I've ever used a presser washer of any kind.

Troy-Bilt 2700 PSI Pressure Washer Review

Would I recommend this pressure washer? Absolutely, as long as you're stronger than I am or have someone to start it for you.

Now for the giveaway! Last year, we got to test and review a Troy-Bilt CSV 206chipper/shredder/vacuum.  You can see my review here. We used it quite a bit this fall, and Troy-Bilt is letting me give away a CS 4265 Chipper Shredder (a different model) to a very lucky reader!

Is there any chance comment number 1 will win? The community garden could use a chipper!

Thank you, Kylee, for all the beautiful pictures that pop up in my Google reader. They are a great pick-me-up!

Thanks for the video! I've looked at these at the hardware store, but it's helpful to see it in action.

Holy Toledo that power washer does have a kick to it, I saw it! It has a good steady spray too. I did keep thinking, oh that patina, oh that patina, lol. Please do enter me in the give-a-way I would love to make mulch for my gardens.

Hi Kylee: Like your blog lots of good things and information on it. Sure could use one of those chippers.

Have a wonderful day,

Sure hope they ship to Montana! We've looked into getting a pressure washer a few times but just haven't yet. The chipper chopper thing looks awesome!

With my newfound love of leaf mold this would probably be my favorite machine of all. Great review of the power washer as well. Thanks for keeping it real! I have problems starting things with strings sometimes too so it's good to know that bit of information.

Looks perfect for my impending move to an acreage (fingers crossed)!

Good review, especially timely since my power washer just died (it was Sears brand).

I can't start anything that had a pullstart, they take more umph than I have I guess. But my husband would love this pressure washer, not to mention the chipper/shredder.

Hi Kylee;

Wow a TOOL!
A real Troy-Bilt tool.
What can I say other than...
"Pick Me" I'll put it to good use and take care of a few of those "Honey-Dos" I've got hangin' around our little neck of the woods.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I have both the pressure washer and the chipper/shredder. You are correct, they can be hard to start. The chipper is very hard to start.

Kylee Baumle said...

Cynthia ~ Thank you and welcome to Our Little Acre!

Mary ~ I'm so glad you enjoy them! I have fun taking them, too. :-)

Darla ~ Yes, I love the patina, too, but it was getting to be a bit too much on some things. Don't worry...it'll be back pretty quickly!

Ben ~ Oooh! Congrats on the upcoming move!

John ~ I'm able to start the chipper/shredder for some reason, but not the pressure washer.

Hi there Kylee!
While we are not in the market for a new pressure washer just yet - a CHIPPER/SHREDDER? Now you're talking!
Oh the possibilities...!!
(I think "Possibilities" are what make the world "Go Round") Have you been visiting my "dreams" lately? They're right behind the - "Overwintering stuff in my Greenhouse" dreams, but next to - "putting more in my compost bins, and less in the piles next to them cause they are too big and I don't have time to cut it all into smaller pieces" dreams...LOL
P.S. Is it ever too early to "Think Spring"?! Happy Thanksgiving & keep on DREAMIN' N SMILIN'!

We just started working on 10 acres in the country. The house is finished and now it's time to start on the property. It seems a daunting task as times and tools can always make that easier. With a burn ban in effect in our county, I have to think outside the box. Thanks for giving us the chance to win something we might not otherwise be able to buy. Your blog is an inspiration for us just starting out.

Oh, Kaylee of all the Contests and Giveaways over the past several years this is the first product the Chipper/Shredder I have seen that I could truly use. No let me rephrase that, the Chipper/Shredder is the item I "need" here at the ranch... So consider me jumping up and down and waving my arms shouting please please, please, pick me! There is little more I can say...

Kathy said...

Wow, I've never seen a chipper/shredder being offered in a giveaway. Awesome! Love your blog and would love to win!

Kylee, I just don't know when you get the time to do all you do? Yet another great give away, and something so useful for most all of gardeners. What a great thing to put under your Christmas tree- and when your ready to take down the tree you can just shred it!

Anonymous said...

I so enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work.

I am a long-time Troy-Bilt customer. I have their string trimmer and lawn mower. They never let me down.

A chipper/shredder would be a great time saver for me. Think of all the mulch!

Twyla said...

Great give away Kylee. We have several old hickory nut and oak trees we are always cleaning up after. Do you think the vacuum will pick up hickory nuts?

Stacey said...

You wouldn't think chainsaws would need accessories, but I think this would go beautifully with mine!

Kylee Baumle said...

I just want to remind everyone that you must fill out your information on the Rafflecopter form to be entered into the contest, as well as leaving a comment here. Thanks!

Susan in the Pink Hat said...

I'm always game for a drawing. Especially when it involves a chipper shredder.

Kylee Baumle said...

Thanks for the great comments, everyone! :-)

Bruce ~ That's too funny...put it under the tree, then shred it. LOL!

Twyla ~ Though the giveaway model doesn't have a vacuum, the one we have does, and no, it isn't very good about picking those nuts up. We've got a gazillion acorns and some hickory nuts too, and while it will pick some of them up, it leaves a lot on the ground, too.

Dawn Sherwood said...

Ooh, thx for the opportunity! I'd love to shred up all the crazy branches that litter my yard after Lake Michigan winds come through!!

My Dad has one of these. It's great, if he starts it for me. A push button started would make this priceless. Great for small properties.

What a great contest - AGAIN! Thank you, Kylee! This is something that we could really use, seeing as our current chipper/shredder is literally in nuts and bolts and screws and springs, trying to get it to live through it's 14th year of eliminating downed branches and limbs, as well as yard waste. Good luck to everyone!

Chris Tidrick said...

This would be a great addition here. Would love to be able to shred most of our yard waste!

I've used the McCullough shredder for years, and it finally died. I am sure that Troy Built has parts needed to keep theirs running for years. I use mine to clean up large items in the garden like corn stalks, and sunflower stems and shred leaves to put into the compost bins. Sure could use a new one, I miss the availability of having my own.

Jeanette said...

Love your blog! Would like to be entered to win the shredder.
