What a difference a day makes. It could have been worse, though. Counties to the north and south of us got more. We were between snow storms, I guess. Those pictures I took yesterday would be a study in white if I took them today.
Oh well, one look at the calendar tells me this is probably exactly what it should look like out there.

Kylie, we've just had 3 days of snow and cold winds, so it looks pretty much the same here. But today the sun is shining brightly, and that's a spirit lifter :)
It must be harder for you to take after coming back from all that lovely warmth!
Yeah, We got hit last night and
today it finally stopped snowing
at 3:00 over here in Chicago...
Hi Kylee, that does not look like spring to me, but does look like late February into early March. Sadly. We still have to wait some more here in TN too, snow predicted tonight. Boo.
Frances
You have such a wonderful view. Snow will soon melt into spring. And blooms will come next.
Brenda
Kylee, we only received a couple of inches of snow last night. It's falling softly again right now. But, you're right. It's February!
You had a wonderful vaction... but it's still Winter here. ;-)
It's the wind that is bad here...bringing cold nights! I do hope you all get a break soon....gail
WOW! You're right! That doesn't look like spring.
Cameron
Even this isn't much of a weather insult, Kylee. Tomorrow I'm going to put on my snowsuit, flounder out into the back garden and get Longsuffering spouse to take some photos of what the drifts look like after the past couple of days of weather tantrums. It will make you laugh. It makes me laugh. Might as well laugh as cuss, I figure.
Kerri ~ Yes, it was hard, but Jenna and I both knew that's the way it would be. She and I both had to work the next morning after our return, but we weren't lamenting that, just the weather!
Cathy ~ I think you got way more than we did! Here, the ground is just covered well, but the wind is strong and it's cold, cold, cold out there!
Frances ~ Oh, I would have thought you'd be done with this stuff down there! Bet you'll be done with it before we are, though. :-)
Brenda ~ I love that we have such a clear view ("On a clear day, you can see forever..."), but that clear view also means we get monster drifts in our driveway (we face west) and the wind doesn't stop until it hits the house, then it funnels around to the back, where we can get some funky drifts, too.
Just one more month and things will change in a big way, in temperatures and the garden!
Shady Gardener ~ Sounds like we got the same. Except it didn't fall softly. The winds are still howling!
Gail ~ Yes, the wind is bad here, too. It will be like this for a couple of months, but the temperatures will be warmer as time goes on.
Cameron ~ Sadly, no!
jodi ~ No, it's nothing compared to what you're dealing with. I can't even imagine how it must be where you are. Looking forward to the laughs...can definitely use them right now! I just wish it wasn't at your expense!
Kylee,
What a great view from your window... I LOVE it. I even love the snow. Now I'm not saying I'd love to be in it... I'm just saying I love to see it... in your photos. LOL
That day at Holmes Beach last week must now seem very, very far away. Such a contrast. :-)
On the up side... it's closer and closer to spring with each day. Geez, that was profound. LOL
*hugs*
Meems @ Hoe and Shovel
Meems ~ Well, you can now see my poor dead window boxes that I never got around to taking down last fall. There's another one to the left just like it. We have a pretty clear view since the land here is pancake flat. On July 4th, we can see the fireworks from Ft. Wayne, which is 35 miles west of us. They're small, but we can see them!
Yes, Holmes Beach seems like ages ago, in fact, the entire week seems like a distant dream. I knew it would.
LOL @ profound remark... Hey, sometimes we have to be reminded of the obvious so we don't dwell on the negative. :-)
Kylie,
It sounds like Nebraska isn't the only place where the temps have fluctuated so widely. The snow will fall, and just when it's melted, will come down again. Our snow from last week is almost all gone. It looks like this week's highs will be more seasonal, in the 40s and 50s.
Hang in there!
Kylee, I think the snow is very pretty, but we hardly ever get any. Spring is not too far off, it is creeping up to you from here in the south.
Awwww, what a bummer! Will everything that was just sprouting be okay?
Cindy
Sue ~ Yes, this is usually how spring comes here...snow, warm, rain, cold, snow, cold, warm, rain...and so on. I heard on the news tonight that it's supposed to warm up again by mid-week. :-)
Debbi ~ I actually like snow, but by this time of winter, I've had enough! Thanks for the encouragement! Good to know it's coming!
Cindy ~ Yes, it will be fine. It usually does this. TEASES us! They'll bloom right on schedule unless we get some freakish weather late, which has happened before, but we don't want to think about that. We're due for an early spring. It's been awhile since we've had one of those.
Mother Nature is toying with us. We haven't had any recent snow but sunny skies have faded to low 20-degree temps at night. Think spring. Think really hard!
Gardeness ~ *thinking*
*thinking*
*thinking*
How's that? Yeah, Mother Nature is a big tease, isn't she?
Nope, it doesn't look like spring to me, in fact it looks just like my yard.
Nope, doesn't look like spring at all. But it does echo how cold it is right now in Tennessee. Spring must be on its way! I hope!! Do stay warm up there in Ohio. I know it has been a long winter for you all.
Pretty view !
Yup, reminds me of all the springs I had growing up in PA, NY, Maine and Ohio!!!!!!!!!!! But now that I'm in VA, I can say, for the most part, NO, it doesn't look like spring! Hope it'll melt for ya soon"
:)
