Beautiful photos! I've been patiently waiting for the few crocuses the rabbits didn't eat to bloom. Now they're under a couple inches of snow. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer!
I just love that little crocus poem! Is Inniswood a long drive for you? It takes me about a half hour to get there, totally worth it. I promised I would go back to see the daffodils and tulips, and it's probably going to be soon. Hmmm, when is my next day off? Puschkinia looks right, but I also see it called striped squill. Someone else said Chionodoxa. Hmmm.
I 'oood and awwwd' the whole way through...such a variety of crocus'! Me, I have just one. Is this your garden?! I enjoyed the verse you included; very cute!
Man... every fall, I walk right past the little crocus bulbs, tempted by snowdrops and sweet-smelling jonquils and fun little species tulips. And every spring I see posts like these--not to mention displays in my neighbors' gardens--and KICK MYSELF for not buying any! Lovely photos, Kylee.
You just can't have enough crocuses. Especially since the chipmunks seem to enjoy chowing down on them! Must get many more this fall. Has anyone ever planted bulbs in nets or cages to keep critters out? Beautiful pictures!!

Crocuses are like candy to the chipmunks in my yard. I have exactly one blooming this year.
Well aren't they just the sweetest things!
