Now THAT'S a Snowstorm!

I don't know how much we've gotten and the television weather reports give many varied amounts from as little as three inches to as much as fifteen. But the real story is told by the wind.

With gusts up to 40 miles per hour and sustained winds of 25-30 mph, snow emergency rulings are in effect and many roads are impassable, due to drifting and near whiteout conditions. Our Christmas gathering for today has been canceled.

We're all cozy inside after Romie made pancakes for everyone. One or two are dozing while the rest of us enjoy Planet Earth on Discovery Channel. Oh, and Max is sound asleep on the floor in the midst of us all.

You didn't really think we were going to leave him outside like that, did you?

We're getting nothing today in Columbus and I'm kinda in the mood to be snowed in. Yesterday was beautiful, it snowed all morning and afternoon, but then rained all night and turned to slush. You can keep the wind tho. ;)

The photo with the cat surrounded by snow is fantastic! You should enter it in a contest.

Okay... that photo of Max is one of those that needs to go in to the agency. And the one in the previous post with the wreath and the light fixture too! You've got an amazing eye. Maybe your body is trying to tell you it's time for a career change. ;) Dental hygienist turned photographer... there's a dentist/photographer from Hungary at the agency. Could work! Anyway... have fun staying all cozy with your kitties and Romie. Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage

P.S. I think Skate's toes and feet are double-jointed! Sometimes they're funky looking and other times they're normal. Kinda weird.

That lucky Max. He looked so cold in that outside picture.

I hope you and yours stay safe and warm. No power outages in that type of weather.

Kylee, I've enjoyed your snow posts. I'm so glad it wasn't as bad as they were predicting.

Too bad that your Christmas gathering had to be canceled. At least you had your girls snowed in with you.

This is being a weird storm here, Kylee. We've gotten a pile of snow since about 3 this afternoon, and of course loads of wind, and then some ice pellets--and currently, at just after midnight, it's stopped precipitating but the wind is still giving a good go of it. HOw much snow we have, I don't know, but the deck door is blocked and the driveway is full; so we could have anywhere from four inches to fourteen, the way it blows up here. Morning will tell the tale (if it doesn't start raining). No whimper of power outage either, but the internet had a bit of a lull for a while.
All is well. It's winter, even if it's still autumn!

Max looks great in the wintery photograph and adorable lounging on the floor.

You had an incredible storm - brrr... no wonder you wanted to stay inside.

That's quite a storm you've had Kylee (love that first pic, very pretty) and no, I didn't think you would let Max stay outside in weather like that.
