Oops! I Did It Again!

So you know I love cats and I love plants, right? If I see a bargain on a plant, especially a beautiful one, my last defense melts away and that thing is going to come home with me. By the same token, if a kitty shows up at our house and keeps showing up day after day, acting like it lives here, then we make it official by getting it 'fixed' and the proper immunizations.

I'm going to show you two pictures. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to figure out which one played to my weakness this time. Ready?

Is it the kitty that's been hanging around for a few months-

-or is it this pretty yellow orchid I saw yesterday?

I want to say both or the kitty. The kitty has amazing eyes.

What beautiful eyes the kitty has! The orchid is pretty too, I bet it was a hard decision.

Ok, Britney, I guess it was the kitty, no wait, the orchid. No, the kitty...

Must be both, both so sweet. I love those yellow phals, even though I have sworn off phals, the yellows are so...something. What have you named the kitty? ;->

Well, I think you passed up the orchid because it didn't look quite up to par...unless you changed your mind and went back :)
So I'm going to say the kitty.
He or she is a beauty and I'm sure you couldn't resist those eyes :)

I'm betting both too. How could you resist either of them! I'm much too weak.

My bet is both!

Oh, both, of course. There are worse compulsions to have. Good for you, Kylee. I see Joy has a new kitten, and all this feline photography is making me tempted to go to our no-kill shelter...
Plus there's an orchid calling MY name, too!

I'm with everybody else, I think you ended up with both.

You guys know me well, don't you? The as yet unnamed kitty has an appointment with our vet on April 9th. ;-)

And now, we need a name for the kitty!

The orchid is not the yellow one I saw earlier. Last night, I stopped at Kroger's on the way home from training. I was shocked when I saw gorgeous phalaenopsis orchids on display with even more shocking prices. The smaller ones, in bud, were $6.99 each. The larger ones, with two spikes were $10.99 each.

All of them were extremely healthy and in bloom with lots of buds yet to open. Several of them had the biggest leaves I've ever seen on a phal at 12-plus inches long!

So yes, of course I had to get one!

Go ahead, Jodi. You know you want to, and I'm giving you permission. :-)

I had already decided it was both!
Maybe name the new cat Orchid!

It is good to see that you are indulging in two of your obsessions. Who could resist those green eyes or that yellow petal?

Like Beckie, I would name that kitty Orchid! Difficult to resist those eyes.
I would not have resisted orchids at that price either...

Well, since the kitty is a male, Orchid doesn't quite fit. We still haven't agreed on a name for him, but soon!

Beautiful Phalaenopis. Lovely yellow color.

ah, too bad! Orchid would have been a perfect name:) I'm sure you've ruled out naming him Kroger..har har:)

We just this minute decided on a name. Barney. We figure he was born in the neighbor's barn.

Hey Jessica...you'll be happy to know though, that your suggestion of 'Kroger' was our second choice. LOLOLOL.

Barney!!!!! Oh what a great name! Just as you knew we be keeping Lucy (aka Skate), I knew you'd be keeping Barney.

Hugs to you and purrs to Barney,

P.S. You reminded me that Hubby needs to call make Lucy's appointment to be fixed.

Heh. I was going to say "Both... but on the off chance it's just one of the two, go back and get the other one already!" lol. But I see you're already ahead of me. :)
