Now it's YOUR turn to benefit! Lowe's Creative Ideas has provided me with a $50 gift card to give away to one lucky Our Little Acre reader. Tomorrow is the 4th and I think that's a good time to show how your garden is celebrating!
With the gift card that Lowe's sent to me, I created a simple centerpiece for a patio table that wears the red, white and blue proudly. I found everything I needed for this planter at my local Lowe's:
- Red glazed pottery
- Potting soil
- Wave petunias, Dianthus, and variegated Liriope plants
It was easy to pot up the plants, and then I added to the festive ambience with a plaque and flag that I already had.
How do you win the $50 Lowe's gift card?
Comment on this blog post, telling me how your garden is sporting the red, white, and blue, or otherwise celebrating the birth of our country. If you're on Facebook, I'd love it if you'd post a photo on the Our Little Acre Facebook page and share your creativity! Since Facebook prohibits running contests through their website (without special permission), sharing a photo there cannot be your sole method of entry, but I'll give you an extra entry if you do.
I'm using Rafflecopter for this giveaway, so YOU MUST ENTER YOUR INFORMATION ON THE RAFFLECOPTER FORM BELOW. I'll be using Rafflecopter to randomly pick a winner on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Deadline for entry is midnight EDT on Monday, July 9, 2012.

Yahoo! I have the red, white, and blue in my veggie garden.
Red is the strawberries, of course, white is the garlic and onions, and blue is...um...hmmm.
Aha! My turtle's water dish is blue! She's a very patriotic turtle. ;o)
Love the centerpiece!

We celebrate by trying to use as many Made in the USA products as we can on the garden.
I have two flowerpots that are filled with Red "Firecracker" plants. They are flowers that I just know as that name. They are doing ok despite the extreme heat we are getting.

otherwise, in my heart, it is the soldier that I wore his POW bracelet till the end of the "conflict" and he never came home.. To me, he is every American who ever cared about being American..and I fly the American Flag and have two Flag Solar lights at night to remember him always.

I planted some red, white & blue containers this year using white caladiums, red impatiens & blue angelinia (not sure about the spelling?). Then I stuck little American flags in the pots in good weather or for company.
My front door is red so I also hung a white wicker basket with flowers & American flags in it & I always hang our large flag outside.
I'd love to win the gift card.
I just cut some purple, white and blue bouquets for the house! Purple, you ask? Yes, purple! The only blue plants I have growing successfully are Geranium 'Rozanne' and they make terrible cut flowers.
I added some flags to my flower pots, the flowers were purchased from Lowes!
I have flags in my garden I also have my red, white, and blue wreath I made from pinterest! thanks so much!

I love your red, white and blue planter. I am going to look for that pot at Lowe's. I love shopping there. We always find something in their garden center. Lots of fun! My Vitex (Chaste Tree) Abbeville Blue decided to bloom in its glory on July 4th. Perfect color for the day.
I was pretty lazy and bought one of Lowes pre-planted red white and blue containers. Added two small American flags and I was done. Would love to win a gift card to do something creative with my cracked birdbath
I'm in a brand new garden this year for the holiday, and I named it the "Transformation Garden" because it is a new birth for me and the gardens. I can't think of a better representation of the birth of the nation than that.
We celebrated with a good old-fashioned family barbecue!
Okay, since I've moved the color scheme for summer is different. At my mom's place I used white morning glories, firespike and blue morning glories, but now I'm down with predominantly pink and lime for the summer months.
My garden at the moment is just fruit trees. Im harvesting delicious peaches right now. I should plant some strawberries and blueberries!
