Blogs Are Me

I'm stretching my blogging legs. It took me some time, but I've organized all of my garden tours onto a separate blog, Garden Tours Are Us. Right now, the posts there are identical to the garden tour posts I've published here on Our Little Acre. But in the coming months, I will be adding write-ups of garden tours I've taken prior to January 1, 2007, when I started blogging.

Included in the new posts will be trips to Chicago Botanic Gardens, Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, Garvan Gardens, and earlier visits to the Cleveland and Cincinnati Flower Shows. I took quite a few photographs during those trips and I want to share those here. I'll continue to post future garden tours both here and on Garden Tours Are Us.

I also decided to keep a separate blog to chronicle this adventure I'm beginning - training for and running the Fort-4-Fitness Half Marathon. I'll be documenting my training sessions and progress as we work our way to September 27th, when the race will be held. If you're interested in following along ... See Kylee Run.

And I used to think blogging was kind of dumb.

My goodness. What fun. You have been to some great gardens. I can't wait to go through all of your tours.

Welcome to the club, several of us have more than one blog. Dumb? Nah, just addictive.

Good luck with your training!

Lisa ~ I just really want to get the rest of the places I've been put on there with the rest of them. I'd have to say that the trip to GardenFair at Winterthur along with Longwood Gardens has been the best trip I've ever taken in regard to gardening. Mom and I both want to go back, and take our men.

Carol ~ Oh I know all about it being addicting. Shocked me how much! There are worse things, though. Hmmmm...that sounds just like what I've said about gardening, too!

thepowerguides ~ I understand what you mean when you say you rarely follow multiple blogs by the same author. I'm kind of like that, too, with some exceptions. The Garden Tours blog won't be updated nearly as often as my main one, but it should be a nice place to go if you're considering visiting one of those places. It will give you an overall view of what is there. I hope you enjoy the trips as much as we have!

Kylee: Blogging IS addictive. Who could have known?

Sounds like a good idea to give details of your garden tours. It will be helpful to anyone who wants to visit. Good luck on your training too. It is a challenging goal. One of the friends I jog with on occasion has been urging me to do one with her. I haven't taken the challenge yet.

Oh, this is too cute. Your name is Kylee, and now you're a blog addict, too. I'm going to stick with one. That's my story and you can quote me....:-)

Can't wait to see your tours, for those of us who don't travel that much, or just love traveling through others. Like Jodi, the one blog is all I can manage! And good luck in the race!

Dear Kylee,
I am enjoying getting to know you.
I have lots of blogs!
I think of them as rooms in my house. My main blog, Q's Corner, is my house. It seems as if a blog takes on a certain character. I am excited to follow along on all your blogs. Brave of you to do the training for the Marathon. I am wanting to get back walking. My body misses it. When it is so cold I just camnnot get out walking.
Looking forward to your posts.

What a good idea for a separate place for your garden tours! I'll be there!

Good idea to separate blogs. I did same for my gardening blog in Polish. Recently also I started new blog with snapshots from different places in Poland - will announce it soon.

Actually, before I started blogging, I also thought that blogging is dumb.
Today I know it is addictive :)

Meems ~ I just never knew I would enjoy writing so much! I used to hate it. I hate running. Think I'll end up loving that, too? I. Don't. Think. So. LOL.

Frances ~ Thanks! I'm going to need all the luck I can gather. My goal is to get the other tours posted before I get busy in the garden this spring.

Jodi ~ Sure, Jodi, but should we count all the other venues where you write? Oops. Was I supposed to keep that a secret? ;-)

Sherry ~ That's a great way to look at blogging! And I know what you mean about going out in the cold to do ANYTHING. Ugh!

Robin ~ Thanks, Robin!

Ewa ~ I thought about doing the snapshot thing, too, but I'll stick with three blogs for now. As long as it takes me to write entries, it's amazing that I'll even be able to keep up with three, although the Garden Tours one should be easy once I've got past tours posted.
I'm looking forward to your new one!

A good idea to have more blogs. And a wonderful thing to write about your training for the marathon. When my daughter had her first real marathon (at 18 and the rest where men from the army!) she also wrote a training diary. She got addictiv with marathons and writing!! So, be careful ;-) !!
